Make a donation to the Rail Trail

We welcome and appreciate any and all donations. Every donation of time, goods and services, or money directly supports our local projects and helps make the Rail Trail happen. We have a large number of specific tasks and projects outlined so that we can improve our communities today and build a foundation for the future.

You can make a tax deductible donation to the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail in several ways:

3. If you are 70-1/2 you may make a direct donation from your IRA that is both Tax Exempt and counts towards your Required Minimum Distribution. This is called a “Qualified Charitable Distribution”. More details from Fidelity here. The IRS speaks to these here.
4. We accept donations through Facebook on our Facebook page.
5. We accept donations through  NetworkForGood.
6. If you sell items on eBay you may donate a portion of the proceeds to Friends of the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail using eBay for Charity. This saves you money on the selling fees eBay charges.  Its their way of helping you help us.
7. When shopping online at Amazon use Smile.Amazon.com instead.  You select the charity you would like to support and every time you shop at smile.amazon.com Amazon will donate 1% of the sale to your charity.  This costs you nothing and over time builds into a nice donation for your favorite charity, Friends of the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail!
8. Matching gifts.  We are now part of several matching gift programs.  If your employer supports matching gifts please inquire if giving to Friends of the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail is a possibility.  We are currently enrolled with Benevity’s Spark program,  Blackbaud’s Employee Giving, and we are taking the steps necessary to get enrolled with the United Way.
9. You could start a GoFundMe campaign to help support a specific project.

14. Buy some Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail logo gear.  Please only use our official supplier, local company StitchesNH based in Concord, NH.  We are repeatedly spammed by others claiming to offer CLSRT branded items.  Stay away from those. We delete the spam as fast as we can.

A partial list of local groups with a particular interest in the Rail Trail:  CLSRT is working to further the trail in all communities.  Several communities have local efforts also working on the trail.

In Concord portions of the trail are on land managed by the Concord Conservation Commission.  See maps 1 and 3 on the Concord Trail System Guidebook and Maps for descriptions of trails along the old Concord to Claremont Railroad line.  Enthusiasts may want to look more closely at land and easements owned by the City of Concord through their online GIS viewer.

In Hopkinton a portions of the trail are on the Stevens Rail Trail, the Rollins Property, and Mast Yard State Forest.  All are managed by a joint project of the Hopkinton Conservation Commission and the Hopkinton Open Space Committee.

In Warner the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail works closely with the Warner Conservation Commission as much of the trail is close to the Warner River.  Warner Parks & Recreation has also provided significant help with trail construction and maintenance.

In Bradford the Rural Heritage Connection of Bradford is working with the Lake Sunapee Snowmobile Club and the Friends of the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail to make extensions to the Tilly Wheeler Trail.
