Now through Dec 2, donations up to $5000 will be matched
by CLSRT board members.
We were awarded a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant to resurface 4/10 of a mile of trail from Newbury Commons elderly housing to the Newbury Harbor Plaza along the old railroad bed owned by the Town of Newbury and the housing facility.
RTP grants work with an 80/20 matching formula. RTP covers half the cost of the project and we have been raising funds to complete the project and fill our match obligations.
We’ve raised $25,000 and with $10,000 more this entire section can be finalized by spring of 2026.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have already come out to help trim brush and prep the trail for resurfacing. Each hour of volunteering counts as $35.76 towards “soft match” to meet our 20% obligations.
